In a country where modern designs are highly magnified, Rajesh Pratap Singh’s signature style and culturally rooted garments epitomises simplicity. TCRP picks five incomparable style statements from Singh’s studio
Indian roots, artisanal garments and flawless clean lines sum up Rajesh Pratap Singh’s work. Being brought up in Rajasthan and worked internationally as well, Singh’s designs reveal cultural nuances and careful detailing. His silhouettes are infused with modern appeal yet remain passionately Indian.
Singh began with his own line for men’s and women’s clothing in 1997 and today his domestic retail presence is in form of five standalone stores in India and select multi-brand boutiques. The brand also retails with some of the finest stores around the world.
For every man today, comfort is the new cool and Singh has just revamped the menswear definition. Gone are the days where we defined classics as trousers with plain shirts or casuals as denims. Palazzos and asymmetrical fits for men are breaking gender barriers. Besides, we loved Singh’s Ajrak and Ikat prints on linen and handloom weaves—perfect for a weekend brunch.
We picked five of his timeless and classic cuts and Atul Kasbekar shot them exclusively for you. Have a look:
